TuneTime
TuneTime recognises music via the microphone and determines the original release year of a song – ideal as a companion for music quiz nights.
How it works
- Choose a mode (Normal or Quiz)
- Play music towards the iPhone
- Tap the microphone button (it listens for about 6 seconds)
- In quiz mode: enter year, artist and title
- Points are saved and the ranking updates
Frequently asked questions
A song is not recognised. Move closer to the sound source, reduce background noise and try again.
No release year is displayed. For rare tracks the date is sometimes missing from the database – the app then tries an alternative search.
What is the microphone needed for? Exclusively for music recognition. On the iPhone, recognition runs via Apple ShazamKit directly on the device; no audio snippets are stored.
How do I get onto the leaderboard? Enter a player name in the settings (gear icon). Participation is voluntary.
How do I delete my data? Send an email with the subject “Data deletion” to info@linnerer.com. Your account and the associated data will then be deleted. Details in the privacy policy for the apps.
